Pregnancy is a wonderful time to practise yoga and our classes are suitable for beginning students and experienced practitioners. Yoga can increase energy levels and help you connect with your growing baby, giving you confidence in your body’s natural ability to give birth. The combination of breathing, relaxation techniques and postures will create inner balance to help overcome any challenges during pregnancy, labour, birth or motherhood. These classes will help build strength for labour, and empower the mum-to-be to have the most conscious birth experience. A great way to meet other pregnant women and feel part of a community.
When to practise:
We recommend starting yoga in the second trimester and you can continue classes right up to birth. It’s never too late to start! The first trimester is a time of great changes physically, mentally and emotionally, but from 12 weeks on (after your first scan) you are welcome to come to class. Seek medical advice regarding any health conditions, and please contact our expert pregnancy yoga teacher if you have any questions about suitability of classes.
Benefits of pregnancy yoga:
- Keep the body fit and mobile
- Boost energy
- Build strength for birth
- Relieve stress and anxiety
- Aid relaxation and improve sleep
- Bond with your baby
- Empower mum-to-be to have a conscious and positive birth experience
